Shrove Tuesday; Pancake Day
Today was a very important day in the liturgical calendar. Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the start of Lent. The last chance to prepare for the 40 days of preparation before Easter. Which starts tomorrow with Ash Wednesday, which in the Catholic tradition is still fast day.
So to celebrate the Parishioners of Woodchester Priory got togeather for a communal pancake eating, in aid of CAFOD in the George’s Parish Rooms. We cooked about 220 pancakes, and think we have made in the region of £275 for CAFOD.
So I am sure everyone involved will be well prepared for the Ash Wednesday Fast Day.
